Study abroad

30 Apr

As you may know, my Dad has been traveling to Denver each week since January consulting on a campaign at an international school there.

Well, Mom is back to work and we have had some complications in the childcare situation (to put it mildly). The good news is that my little sister, Annabel has come out on top and is having an amazing adventure.

She has enrolled at the school in Denver in the fulltime preschool class – it’s 100% in Spanish – and she will travel with Dad each week to attend school there. It’s like studying abroad!

Here she is saying goodbye on her first trip.

On the first of many plane rides:

Warm and sunny days in Colorado:

Her new cubby:

Circle time:

Notice they all wear cute smocks (mom decorated Annie’s):

Dad gets to peek at her from his desk sometimes:

The teachers, new classmates, the amazing people that work there and even the hotel is excited to have her. Tonight she gets to see her cousins who will help make her feel at home each week.

Back in Seattle, Mom and I are staring at each other twiddling our thumbs. It’s awful quiet each evening and we miss Dad and Annabel terribly. It’s only for 6 weeks though, so we are making the best of our time by trying new stuff.
