First day back skiing

A great way to start the New Year! We are back in Bend, Oregon, to ski at Mt. Bachelor. Annabel and Mom haven’t skied since last February at Park City – and Dad and I had a quick trip locally with my Uncle Mark and Anthony at Thanksgiving. It’s hard to get back out there after 10 months off!

This year, in addition to Mamie and grandma, we have our pals Phoebe and Olive skiing with us.

Annabel loved ski school and got back her “ski legs” – she even made a friend with a matching jacket: Amelie.

At the end of the day, the 4 of us had some family time. Here’s a video (mom wants you to appreciate her ability to ski and record us at the same time)

We are pooped – check back this weekend to see if we have improved.

Weekend with Dad

This weekend was a big camping trip to camp orkila- me, my dad, and about 300 other campers went as part of Y Guides.
For the second year in a row, my favorite thing to do was archery and the rifle range.

While everything else was awesome, this was by far my favorite. Here I am after hitting the bullseye.

What a shot!

Kickball Birthday

This year at school, I’ve been playing kickball at almost every recess. Naturally, it made sense to have a kickball birthday party.

I’ve never had an outdoor party because of the potential for bad weather – I promised my mom that we wouldn’t care if it rained. Even though it was 70 degrees and sunny last week, the forecast called for hail yesterday.

Well, what happens when you take 22 boys, suit them up for rain and go outside and play? An awesome good time.

First we split into the blue and green teams:

Then luckily, no one was using the tennis courts, so we could play there.

I was captain of the blue team

The best thing is that almost everyone could make it to the party and I feel like one of the luckiest kids in the world to have so many friends:

Here’s the happy birthday song if you can believe it:

Skiing in park city post 1

We are having a blast here in park city for our annual trip.
Today the whole group skied the canyons.
Here I am on a steep double blue – ran into mom at the end. Notice the rest of the family trying to keep up

And here is Annabel! Doing great for a 3 year old!

Mt Bachelor skiing

First skiing of the season and we are in Oregon at Mt bachelor. We rented a house in Bend – cousins Cody, Anthony and Katy flew up to join us without parents for the week! What an awesome treat for us.

Here are some views, some lifts, one of Annabel dragging another student around ski school and one of me totally exhausted.

Here’s Annabel and mom on the mountain

I guess the excitement of school being out, the lost tooth, the present pile growing under the tree led to failure to post yesterday.
We’ve made up for it in today’s video.

It’s going to be a beautiful week in Seattle – it was almost 75 degrees yesterday and we were sweating! In celebration, we have some Spring posts for you.

Last month, we traveled to visit Grandma in Palm Desert. The week started off just right, because my cousin Anthony happened to be flying through Seattle on his way home. He and I sat next to each other ALONE on the airplane. (Well, Mom and Annabel were a couple rows back, but still!) He got to act as 3rd base coach at my tee-ball game during his layover:

Here he’s cheering me on while I run home:

Then we hopped on a plane and went to Palm Springs. We love the Palm Springs airport – palm trees greeted us:

Once at Grandma’s – we met up with Katy and Gabe – always a great day, when the Atchity cousins are all together.

As Annabel and I are quickly learning, vacations are full of things we don’t normally get to do at home. Sun and swimming aside, we got to do some other things we love.

Mani Pedi:
(My sister’s ability to sit still for grooming is astounding. Strangers were taking her picture.)

We went to Target to stock up on goodies:

Eating lunch at our favorite place:

Laying in the sun

Going out for gelato in Pajamas (I know this is shocking to many of you)

and a little golf:

This is the life:

And here are some swimming and golf highlights – we are all so proud of Annabel’s swimming achievements.
